The artist Adelaide Damoah will be exhibiting a selection of her striking pieces at an event in North London called U-NITE. The event which takes place at the famous Bernie Grant Art Centre, focuses on the theme of Unity and it will feature, dance, music, fashion and drama in a mixed variety showcase.
Adelaide Damoah who is best known for her 2006 exhibition "Black Brits" will be presenting 15 pieces, including 4 from the controversial Black Brits collection, a selection of abstract pieces from previous years, and she will be unveiling her latest collection which is cleverly named "Black Lipstick".
This will be a chance to take a glimpse into the colourful mind of Adelaide Damoah. To look at Adelaide's paintings is like taking a journey into her subconscious mind, she has stated in the past that sometimes when she paints she does it without conscious thought, resulting in an unintentional masterpiece.
I have discovered a way to get in touch with this side of my mind
intentionally through meditation, when I meditate I feel like I am in
touch with universal intelligence, which is infinite. Images come to me
which I could never consciously think of.
